About Fibre Frolic

Fibre Frolic is owned by Sharon and Paul Holstein.

Owning a Yarn shop has been a lifetime dream and when you finally find what you consider the ideal location after many years of looking and your husband says “If you want to do it, go for it” well I wasn’t going to wait for him to change his mind. A lease was signed and approximately six weeks later Fibre Frolic opened its doors

I grew up in Tasmania and was taught to knit by my beautiful grandmother at the age of five using long nails and string and have been knitting ever since, learning to crochet at about the age of ten.

Even when knitting and crocheting wasn’t popular and many yarn shops were closing, I continued to knit and crochet.

Knitting and crochet has had a big resurgence in the last twenty years and there is now a younger generation that are loving the craft and enjoying all the beautiful yarns and patterns that are available. These crafts are not just for Nanas they are for everyone.

At Fibre Frolic we aim to showcase the beautiful yarns, patterns and accessories that are available to knitters and crocheters. We will be holding classes, workshops and many social activities that involve getting out and about with your knitting and crocheting.

Paul is now learning all about yarn, needles and hooks whilst dreaming of playing golf full time. Well I suppose dreams do come true, so you never know.
